Acs380 modbus mapping5/3/2023 20.01 EXT1 command Embedded Fieldbus (If using Modbus for control) 22. Is it this 'FENA-01 adaptor' that i would need?cot201.nsf%2Fveritydisplay%2Fe009e865cd89cf0ec122472%2F%24file%2Fenfena01modbustcppmbs creenres. below need to be set to enable the embedded Modbus and to tell the drive that the start/stop and speed references will come from communications if Modbus is being used for control and reference. That may be viable as i have two ethernet ports on the Beckhoff plc. I don't use Beckhoff controllers at all, but had a presentation by one of their salesmen last week and asked some questions about their serial modules.Beckhoff has two different bus types:E-Bus is extremely fast and based on EtherCAT.K-Bus is older and slower and is a Beckhoff/Wago proprietary protocol. The CX9000 controller has E-Bus.The CX9001 controller has K-Bus.The module you linked to, the KL6001, uses K-bus.To run Modbus RTU protocol on that module, you would also need a Beckhoff license for the Modbus RTU library, part number TS6255. You need to look carefully at the user manual bkottaras linked to, to understand which pins implement the serial port on that connector. Those RJ45 connectors on the Beckhoff CX9000 controller are Ethernet connectors. While I don't know these particular devices, it's very likely that the ACS350 drive includes power on some of the pins and will damage or destroy an Ethernet port if you were to connect them together. To connect your Beckhoff CX9000 controller to the ACS350 drive, you would need at a minimum the Beckhoff CX9000-N030 serial communication module. It's made to connect to their operator panels and option modules but also includes in RS-232 port that can accept commands using the Modbus RTU protocol.
